Working Together for Effective Education

We are a network of people from around the world who believe that how we educate our children is the best solution for most of the world’s ills.
We hope that others will join because we also believe that if there are enough of us, we can have a positive and genuine effect on education.
In order to attract as many educators, parents, and stakeholders as possible, we offer principles of effective education that we hope most people can agree are the fundamentals of human growth and development.
Creating a relationship of trust
- Children learn by example, and the relationship that they have with adults affects their overall personal, social and academic development. This is where teachers have a huge role in either allowing self-esteem to grow or scolding a person into submission.
Connecting learning with the child’s experience
- This is self-evident. Children learn best when learning is related to their interests and experiences.
Acknowledging how children learn and develop
- Also, self-evident. Children learn and develop when, for example, their own individual ways of learning are acknowledged. For example, some are good at sports, some at reading, and some at both.
When education, in practice, actually acknowledges these simple ideas, then the dignity of the individual is maintained. If that is the case, then the qualities developed are the ones needed to improve life on this planet.
What are your views on the problems with education? Join the discussion and let us hear from you.
We will be presenting your views as well as more of our thinking in the weeks and months ahead in the hope that we can make a difference through teacher training, relevant curriculum, understanding child development and relating instruction to it.
