Learning Environment for Effective Education

If the learning environment is in accord with the principles of effective education, it becomes the bridge between the principles of effective education and the desired outcomes.

Learning EnvironmentFor example, take the principle of creating a relationship of trust as the foundation for the child’s development.  A learning environment in accord with this principle will be structured around a close and open relationship between teacher and child, which springs from a genuine concern for the well-being of all students.  Students will have easy access to their teachers as resource providers and guides, who are a source of modeling an example. This is central to the students’ development of social and personal values, and the development of educational outcomes such as confidence, security people who care, relationship-building, teamwork, communicating, and so on.

We can see that the learning environment comprises three components:

  1. the human environment, including teacher and child,
  2. the resource materials, and
  3. the built environment.
